Hello people.

I got a few negative comments about “chaseyites”, so I will definitely be using it again. So “Hi Chaseyites” !!!

Thought I just explain the photos that you can see on the page.

One top of the page is my lovely Sigma acoustic guitar, I also have a Stratocaster Squire, nice black and white one …. I wished that I could play it like Eric, or Mark or David – I wonder if you know who I’m talking about. Yeah, of course you do. There are some fantastic guitar players around and I love to watch and listen to most of them.

The garden is ours, in Rainworth. I say it’s ours, it’s Diane’s really, she plans and works it, I just help if there is anything a bit on the heavy side to do … then again, I’m bloody limited now, that heart bypass operation a couple of years ago has certainly taken its toll on my small but perfectly formed body now.

The next ….. it’s brilliant Otis Redding, the best soul singer of all time. What you lot call “soul” is nothing like Otis used to sing. That was the true soul, you could hear it in his voice and his delivery. Me and Di were due to go to London to see him in February 1968, I can’t remember the venue, anyway, he got killed in an air crash in early December 1967. We were both upset and I was devastated, he was my idol, I had bought everything that he had released on vinyl and used to sit and listen to him for hours at a time on my portable Ferguson turntable up in my bedroom … I still listen to him a lot, its wonderful stuff. I think I’ll make my own playlist on Spotify, that will be a bit of fun.

A photo of my aviary is next … about a year out of date now. I built the whole thing myself including the breeding cages. The full build story is on the website.

Then there is me – the twat at 18 or 19 years old. I was a real waste of time, back then I was JTL or I thought so, I got into all sorts of stuff ….. I have changed since those days thankfully and look back at many of those times with embaracement and a lot of regret. We had some great times as well, of course we did. I cant change the past and it’s true that people say that your past life shapes you into what you are now – I really hope it has made me into a better person because I’m very happy with what and who I am now. I’ve achieved the ultimate aim, which to be very honest I thought I would ever get … that’s having 2 great children in Emma and Andrew and they in turn have given us 3 brilliant grandkids. Even getting married seemed out of reach for me until I woke up at 22 years old, that’s when I met up with Diane again …… and the rest is a story. I think another one of the big regrets is leaving all my old mates behind when we got married left Basildon in 1973, we moved to Burnham in Crouch, not too far away, but we both changed jobs and worked in Heybridge and Maldon. I just cut them dead, what a pillock, but I’m so pleased that a handful have responded to requests on Facebook to get in contact again …. thankyou so much guys …….. yeah , it’s a bit of a squidgy thing to say but some of you know that I wear my heart on my sleeve nowadays and I get emotional at some stuff .. so there it is.

Moving on then.

Ahhh, THFC, this stadium from the outside it is superb, me and Di visited there before the official opening. The massive shop was open so I get some bits, couldn’t resist it. I could ramble on about the Boys but I fear that it would become tedious, if this blog hasn’t become that way for you so far …………….. I will get to be more controversial, as some of you know who have followed be before, I just want to warm the rest of you up a bit and get you on board … might as well be honest eh ?

The goat, an amusing story when we lived in Spain … you can read the anecdote on the website, here’s a link; http://chaseysbudgies.co.uk/the-goat/   There are a few more ditties for you to read as well.

I’ll be changing the photos from time to time so that I can talk about more boring shite.

I’ve just heard that one of my old mates from Matching Green back in Basildon is to become a granddad, baby girl apparently ….. congratulations Keith Manning. We chatted on screen the other day and he’s the same old Keith, well into his music. Keep safe and well mate.

This blog has been a little reflective, but my fingers kept on typing and they run away … I promise to be a bit more positive in the next blog …… I hate negative and love positive.

I think that will do for today

 See Ya ………….. I hope

Keep safe and well.

Written by Mike Chase My name is Mike Chase, although in the early part of my life in the 1960’s and 70’s I was always known as Mickey or Mick, I changed my preference in about 1990. My reasoning for that was that I went into sales management when I left the fabulous...
